Shotgun Challenge
There is a new game coming to FCSC, on Sunday, September 7th at 9:30 AM.
Shotgun Challenge is shot with any repeating shotgun, semiauto, pump, or if you're feeling like a cowboy, a double will be fun, too. The targets are the same clays we shoot for skeet and trap, but they will be stationary on stands. No moving targets in this game. Shotgun Challenge is basically the Steel Challenge, but we use shotguns and the targets are clay pigeons instead of steel plates.
Our first shoot will consist of three stages with five to seven targets per stage. Like Rimfire and Steel Challenges, every shooter will shoot each stage five times, on the clock, and your four best times will count.
No special ammo or equipment is required. If you have a tricked out competition shotgun, great! But if you dust off your Remington 870, 1100, Ithaca 37, Mossberg 500, Browning A5, or anything else you have, it will work just as well!
Bring six boxes of #7.5, 8 or 9 target loads and you should go home with ammo to spare.
This is a fun shoot, not a serious competition. The most common reason I hear for members not trying something new is being nervous that they won't shoot as well as others. That's not an issue here. Try something new and share in the FUN with us!
Instructions and Safety Brief begin at 9:30 AM on Sunday, September 7th. Shooting will start right after. Please be on time as attendance for the meeting is necessary to shoot. If there is enough interest, I plan to run 1 or 2 of these per month until snow flies, so I hope to see you there!
Contact Ed Cialek at hawgleg44@gmail.com with any questions. And if possible, send an email if you plan to attend so I know approx. how many shooters to plan for.
